These clients asked Tim and Lisa to design the facade of the house in conjunction with Friedman-Brueggemeyer's remodel, in addition to the front and rear landscaping. Some of the hidden problems like dry rot caused by years of bad drainage needed to be fixed, along with routing downspouts away from the house, railings needed to be replaced - a wonderful opportunity to update the look of a house, something Tim and Lisa truly enjoy doing. Removing the shutters made the house look much more expansive, the front door was replaced, broken brick was taken out and replaced with flagstone on the flat surfaces - stucco replaced the brick walls to tie in architecturally. There were too many different materials. From Brownstone boulders to stucco walls, the movement from garden to house is now gradual and gentle. A monochromatic palette helped in achieving a soft transition from the sidewalk to the front door, many steps away.
