The last thing Tim and Lisa's clients were thinking about for their spacious yard was a new deck as part of their garden redo - however leaving the pre-existing one out of this backyard remodel would've been like putting icing onto a crumbling cake. The homeowners quickly embraced the idea and now have a gracious, multi-level space which extends their unobstructed views and living spaces to the outside. The old single level deck had no sense of place, so elevated it did not integrate with the house or the garden, the scale was wrong, the underbelly exposed. The new deck is the heart of the garden now, spilling down to grade, where paths, patios, private and open spaces invite, including a colorful laundry zone embraced by vegetable beds. |
